Mary Weaver Obituary

Mary Katherine

Weaver (Kay)
Kay Weaver age 91 of Lacey, WA passed away on Wednesday March 30, 2011 at her residence at Garden Courte Memory Center in Olympia, WA. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, John A. Weaver who died in 1993. She is survived by her children Sarah L. Love and Michael O'Reilly; Darlene and Scott Lawson; John J. Weaver; Marlow Weaver; Mary and Lenny Chavez; Liz and Doug Robertson; and grandchildren Lette, Andrea, Alex, and Bria.
Kay was born on a farm in Alabama in 1919 and married John A. Weaver also of Alabama in 1943. She and John had a life that took them to Germany, Colorado, California, and finally settled in Olympia where she made her home for the last forty-four years. Along the way, they had six children and four grandchildren who were the light of her life. Her passion was her church (1st Baptist Church). She spent many hours there with her women's groups, her Bible studies, and was always quick to volunteer to do dishes or to help out in any way. She was an avid quilter and never missed her Tuesday quilting times. She was a friend to everyone, was quick to praise, and had a wicked sense of humor. We will miss her. We ask that donations be made in Kay's name to Camp Bethel of The 1st Baptist Church.
Services will be held at Olympia First Baptist Church, 904 Washington Street SE on Saturday April 2, 2011, 3:00 p.m.
