Ronald Lee Ahlf

Ronald Lee Ahlf, 73, passed away on Friday, February 11, 2011 at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, WA. He was born in Reardan, WA on January 16, 1938 to Herman and Sylvia (Rogers) Ahlf. On September 13, 1958 he married Phyllis Meyer at Central Lutheran Church in Spokane, WA. They had been married 52 years. Ron graduated from Reardan High School in 1956 and from Washington State University in 1961 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering.
Ron's greatest pleasure was coaching his children, teaching them to fish and enjoy the outdoors. He was an avid Cougar fan and proudly attended WSU events with his wife Phyllis, his children, grandchildren and brother, Ken and his wife Marilyn.
Ron and his family moved to Kwajalein Marshall Island, in 1968, where Ron worked as an engineer for Global Associates, the support contractor for the Kwajalein Missile Range. Upon their return in 1972, Ron became Resident Engineer at ITT Rayonier and supervised the operations of the fiscal plant in Shelton and oversaw the construction of the new research laboratories in Jessup, GA, until his retirement in 1997.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis, sons, Reid (Terri), and Troy (Kim), and daughter, Pam (Steve Teglovic); six grandchildren, Kyle (Heather) Morgan, Colton, Garrick, Matthew and Kelsey, and brother, Ken Ahlf (Marilyn).
A memorial service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, 1212 Connection Street, Shelton, WA 98584 on Friday, February 18, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Memorial donations can be sent to Faith Lutheran Church or the American Lung Association, 2625 Third Ave, Seattle, WA 98121.
