Glenn Eugene Hambrick Glenn Eugene Hambrick, 66, passed away April 13, 2013 at Highline Regional Hospital in Tukwila. He was born November 14, 1946 to Glyndell and Evelyn (Horn) Hambrick in Santa Rosa, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents and his older brother, David Weeks. Glenn graduated from Analy Union High School, Sebastopol, CA, in 1964 and entered military service in the US Air Force that summer. While stationed at McChord Airforce Base in August 1965, he met Judith Ann Weaver, the love of his life, at the Evergreen Ballroom. They married three years later on August 25, 1968, celebrating 44 years of matrimony in 2012. Glenn was a Sergeant in Vietnam during the Tet Offensive of 1968, and was honorably discharged later that year. Upon returning to the US, he and Judi settled in Tumwater, WA. His career included working as a surveyor for the Washington State Dept of Natural Resources and several positions with the Dept of Transportation, where he retired as the Prequalification Engineer for Contract Administration and Award in July 1996. Glenn was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed backpacking and camping in the Olympics. He loved to fish the Cowlitz River, especially when Steelhead were running, as well as the Deschutes River and Porter Creek for rainbows. As a young man, he often hunted alongside Judi's father Orin and brother Duane. Glenn attended WSU, Clark College and Centralia Community College before graduation with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Evergreen State College in 1992. For Glenn, no one was a stranger for long. His favorite holiday was the Fourth of July, during which he enjoyed days grilling with family and friends, and nights filled with fireworks. In retirement, Glenn enjoyed travels with his wife, including trips to Europe and Mexico, and Nicaragua to visit their son wile he served in the Peace Corps. Glenn is survived by his wife Judi of Tumwater, and his son Mark of Phoenix, AZ. A memorial service for Glenn will begin at 1 pm Friday, April 19, 2013 at Mills & Mills Funeral Home, 5725 Littlerock Rd SW, Tumwater, WA (360)357-7743, preceded by a visitation at Noon. Reverend Chuck Harris of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepard will officiate. Glenn will be laid to rest at a private burial at Masonic Memorial Park, Tumwater on April 20, 2013.
