Aria Ganesan

Aria Ganesan June 09, 1929 - February 01, 2013 GANESAN, ARIA of Indian River Crescent, North Vancouver.

Aria Ganesan passed away on Friday, February 01st after several months of bravely battling illness. Aria was born in Malaysia, grew up in Sri Lanka (formerly Ceylon) and qualified as an electrical engineer in England after attending Brighton Tech. He immigrated to Canada in 1965 and worked for BC Hydro in Vancouver and Hudson Hope until the early 70's. He then went on to work in Brazil and later in the Philippines for the Asian Development Bank. He returned to Vancouver and continued his passion for hydro electric engineering as an international consultant.

He enjoyed socializing and his gentle disposition drew people to him so that he made numerous friends from all parts of the world including Europe, UK, South East Asia, India, Sri Lanka, Australia, South America and North America. The beauty of Aria was that he never failed to keep in touch with all of them. Traveling was another love of his and even after undergoing surgery on his ankle and barely out of bed, Aria was planning his next trip!

He is sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Padmaa, son Dushyenth and daughter Sri Bhavani.

The funeral will take place on Wednesday February 06th, 2013 at 9:00 am at Hamilton Harron Funeral Home, 5390 Fraser Street Vancouver, and cremation thereafter.

The family thanks you for your kind support during this difficult time and request that in lieu of flowers to please donate in Aria's memory to the North Shore Hospice Society
