BRIMACOMBE, Eileen (nee O'Leary)
February 21, 1928 - December 27, 2012
Eileen passed away peacefully and quickly after a short fight with cancer. She is predeceased by her parents, Cecilia and Timothy O'Leary, her sister, Catherine, and her brothers, John and Michael. She is survived by her nephews, Robert and Christopher, her brother-in-law, Jeffery and sister-in-law, Marion, her goddaughter, Eileen Hoeter and Tessa (Hoeter) Marks. Eileen was born and raised in Cardiff, Wales, and moved to Vancouver in 1952. Eileen was a long-time employee at Birks, and later at the Dept. of Veterans' Affairs. She volunteered for many years at St. Paul's Hospital, and the Vancouver Community Police Station on Davie St. Eileen will be missed by many. Her sense of humour, cheerful personality, and upbeat attitude made everyone, old and young, enjoy being with her. Many thanks to Drs. Kenecke and Hay, and the nurses at the Palliative Care Ward at St. Paul's Hospital. Special thanks to the nurses and staff at St. James Cottage Hospice for their kind, and thoughtful care. At Eileen's request there will be no service. Donations to the BC Cancer Agency or St. James Cottage Hospital would be gratefully appreciated.
