George passed away peacefully in Richmond on March 26, 2013 at the age of 88. George will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Verna of 64 years and daughters Patricia (Lloyd) and Maureen (Gary). He was predeceased by brothers, Bill, Phil and Norman and sister, Grace.
George was a life long resident of Steveston where he was born and raised, worked, married and raised his own kids. Fishing was in George's blood as his grandfather was the original joint owner of the Gulf of Georgia Cannery. At an early age George started fishing. He finally retired at the age of 70 when he was able to devote himself to other passions - gardening and meeting the boys for coffee every morning. George joined the Canadian Army during WWII
and served until it ended.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to all of the staff at Fraserview Lodge in Richmond who were a constant source of support and gave lots of love to George over the years.
A Celebration of George's life will be held at a later date.
