RUNZER, Hazel Blanche (nee Sperling)
January 5, 1932 - November 16, 2013
Hazel passed away peacefully at age 81 in the Eagle Ridge Hospital. Survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Rudolf (Rudy); daughter Arlene Foote (Brian) of Williams Lake and son Reginald (Louise Yeatman) of Burnaby; two grandsons Brendan (Rena) of Williams Lake and Jason of Calgary; two great-grandchildren Ashton and Isla. Also survived by her sister Frances Huebert (Dave) of Chilliwack and brother Donald (Elsie) of Grand Forks and sister-in-law Lynne Sperling of Abbotsford; brother-in-law and sister- in-law Oscar and Mima Runzer of Squamish; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Albert and Hilda; two brothers, David and Len. Born in Hepburn, Sask., later moved to Abbotsford and was employed by B.C. Tel. as a switchboard operator, was married to Rudy December 22, 1951, from there to Vancouver in 1956 where she raised her family and was employed at several department stores until retirement. Was an avid bowler and enjoyed travelling. She will forever be remembered by family and friends for her big heart, loving ways and generosity. No service by her request. A private Celebration of Life with family and close friends will be held at a future date. Time, place and date to be announced. In lieu of flowers donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or charity of your choice would be appreciated.
