GIUNTO, Maria Rosa
Born on April 16, 1924 in Mammola, Italy, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2012 at age 88. Loved and missed by her loving husband of 68 years, Matteo, her children Pina (Alberto) Langone, Ana (Freddy) Behar, Lisa (Francisco) Salvia, Vicente (Alejandra) Giunto, Claudio (Janet) Giunto; also by her fourteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. Her unwavering faith in God and her devotion to Virgin Mary transpired on her contagious laughter, joy and humility. She was a loving wife and adoring mother, to her grandchildren she was abuela/nonna/grandma, "the sweetest of all." One of her joys in life was to cook for those she loved, followed by her favourite saying "mangia, mangia." She entered Heaven's gates surrounded by her loving family, just the way she "planned" it. Te queremos mama. Prayers service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 9387 Holmes St., Burnaby. Funeral Mass Friday, January 4, 2013, 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church followed by the Interment at Ocean View Burial Park, 4000 Imperial St., Burnaby, South Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society in memory of Rosa Giunto.
