KIDD, Mary Lydia
Mary Lydia Kidd (née Hinke) left this world February 23rd, 2013, following a prolonged series of health challenges and a stay in Burnaby's St. Michael's Centre. Mary was born in Vancouver, BC, on April 15th, 1927, to Mary and Joseph Hinke who, along with her brother, Joseph, have predeceased her. She is survived by her loving husband of almost 65 years, Edward Richard (Dick) Kidd; their two daughters, Debbie Ross (husband, Wally Podpora) and Lynn Nichol (husband, Rod) and their families; and her sister, Dorothy Lusher of Bermuda. Mary loved her family with a passion that was clearly evident. She enjoyed early camping trips with them and continued to travel with family and friends into her later years. Mary was seldom without a dog to walk or a cat to stroke. She was always up for a game of bridge and a good laugh. Her loving warmth was felt by all who came in contact with her. Our lives will be less whole with Mary's passing and we will cherish memories of her forever in our hearts.
A Celebration of Mary's Life will be held Saturday, March 9th, 2013, from 2:00 to 4:00 in the amenities room of the Poppy Residences at 5291 Grimmer Street, Burnaby. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or Covenant House.
