GIBBS, Patricia Elizabeth
Elizabeth passed away peacefully at home on February 12, 2013, at the age of 86. Born on October 1, 1926, her family maintained strong roots in Vancouver. Her mother, Jean Gillis Gibbs was secretary to Major Matthews of the Vancouver Archives. Her uncle, Rufus Gibbs supported the Boys Club of Vancouver and helped develop the Gibbs line of fishing tackle. Elizabeth was a strong-willed and accomplished woman in her own right. Predeceased by her first husband, James Peter Pappajohn in 1969, she raised four children and ran a family business. Elizabeth married her second husband, Richard Gillespie who was at her side for over 37 years. Predeceased by her daughter, Susan Hall-Patch (Nick) in 2012, she is survived by her children, Peter (Julie), Nancy (Tony), and Paula (Mike). Elizabeth will be lovingly remembered by her seven grandchildren, Lucy, Clare, Sam, Ann, Paula, James, and Erin. Devoted to family and business, Elizabeth was also passionate about fashion, art, music, gardening, travel and boxer dogs. Many thanks to Dr. Wayne Smith. A special thank-you to caregivers Gail, Margaret and Nurse Next Door's Fe and Ruth for the incredible care you provided. Donations can be made in Elizabeth's name to North Shore Crisis Services Society. No service by request.
