Stanley KAVALEC

KAVALEC, Stanley Andrew
In Abbotsford, BC on February 28, 2013, Dad passed away peacefully in his 89th year. Survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Patricia (nee, Gurr), sons Kenneth (Suzanne); Gordon; Douglas (Susanne); daughter Joanne Kavalec-Stewart (Jim); grandchildren Joy, Travis (Cherie), Lindsay, Riki-lea, Sarah, Brandon, Alexandra, Matthew, and great-grandson, Chase. Predeceased by his parents Andrew and Mary, and sisters Marian Novak and Helen Kavalec. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on March 8, 1924, dad lived through the depression years and WWII. He enlisted in the RCAF in 1943 and proudly served overseas in England until his discharge in 1945. After the war, Dad became a husband, father and enjoyed a 40 year career as a Draughtsman. Almost half of his life was spent in Winnipeg, until 1964 when he moved his young family to Surrey, BC. Dad loved big band music, playing cribbage, reading, and golf...especially golf; as an avid golfer he played well into his late 70's. He had a big voice, a big sense of humor and almost always had a smile on his face. His was a life well-lived. We love you Dad and will never forget you. Service, Thursday, March 7, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Valley View Memorial Gardens, 14644 72nd Avenue, Surrey, B.C.
