Beverly Ann Barnes August 9,1951- August 16, 2016 It is with shock and sadness we announce the passing of Beverly Ann Barnes of Richmond, BC. Beverly was the only daughter of Chuck and Isabel Barnes (deceased) of Roberts Creek, BC. She leaves behind her two brothers Capt. Jim Barnes (Retd.) (Suzie) and Capt. Stewart Barnes (Retd.) (Debbie), along with her nieces and nephews, Stephen Barnes (Susan), Rychalle Cester (Greg), David Barnes (Sarah), Charlie Barnes (Ashley), Amy Barnes, Lt. Richard J. Barnes, seven great nieces and nephews as well as many other relatives and good friends.

Bev graduated from Elphinstone Secondary in 1969 and attended UBC, attaining her Masters degree in Education. During her UBC years she was on the UBC Thunderbirds Women's Basketball team, was a member of the Canadian Women's Basketball team and the Canadian Women's Olympic team playing in the 1976 Olympic Games.

Bev taught school primarily in South Delta, Burnside Secondary and retired from South Delta Secondary in Tsawwassen as Vice Principal in 2009. Bev was an avid golfer and curler

and will be missed by those who knew her.

A private family ceremony was held August 28 at Devlin Funeral home in Gibsons, BC.

A celebration of her life will take place at Quilchena Golf & Country Club in Richmond, B.C. on September 23 from 2 to 5.
