McEACHNIE, Clarence Neil
Neil passed away peacefully at home on January 20, 2012 at the age of 79. He is survived by and will be sadly missed by his loving wife Bonnie, children Ken (Carolyn), Cindy (Jim), Darren, Toby (Kimberly), Stefanie (Chris) and Christina and grandchildren Riley, Taylor, Nolan, McKenzie, Finlay, Grayson, Gabriela, Michelle, Christina and Hunter. Neil was an outstanding athlete playing soccer in the Pacific Coast League, in the English 1st division for the Arsenal Football Club (1949-1951) and was part of the Canadian representative team that toured the United Kingdom and Soviet Union in 1960. Neil was also an excellent golfer. Known as "Nellie" to his golf buddies, he loved the game and the camaraderie. In 1991, Neil and Bonnie retired to Penticton after a 35 year career with BC Hydro. Retirement allowed Neil to fully enjoy golf, gardening and watching hockey and soccer. He was influential in the lives of many and never had a problem sharing his opinion. His generosity, spontaneity and enthusiasm for life will be greatly missed. No service by request. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Salvation Army would be appreciated.
