Ruth was raised in Dunbar, graduating from Magee High Her first job was in a bakery, then a brief stint at a fishing lodge and then wife and mother to four children. She was one of the first female salespersons for Crown Zellerback. Home was a tiny bungalow on Dennis Crescent. It was rough at times after husband Donald Walker died suddenly in 1968. In 1980 Ruth retired to Armstrong, Enderby and then Vernon. Ruth loved playing bridge and crib, travelling and cruising. Buying more of and then sharing her stockpile of cosmetics gave her great pleasure. The children have no service planned, choosing to remember our Mom each time we see a butterfly.
