James Eugene (Jimmy) Syroishko

September 20, 1930 - July 26, 2017

Passed away peacefully in his 87th

year in West Vancouver after a four

year illness with a rare leukemia.

Jim is survived and will be missed by

his children Karen (Holland), Larry,

Steven, Sue (Vancouver) and his sister

Alice (Hamilton). Grandchildren Josh,

Mitchell (Vancouver) and Saskia

(Holland). He will also be missed by

cousins Walter Zdeb and Bohdan

Makushak (Hamilton). Jimmy was

born in Hamilton on Queen St. N., a

vibrant, multi-ethnic neighborhood

to Ukrainian immigrants, Alexander

and Sophia Syroishko. Jim started

work in Hamilton at Westinghouse

and later moved to Toronto with

the Canadian Broadcasting Corp.

Living also in Ottawa, and Vancouver

where he was Manager, Human

Resources, Western Division, CBC until

his retirement at age 56. His love of

travel took him to Mexico, Central

America, Europe, and Asia. Cremated

in Vancouver, he will be Interred at

Woodland Cemetery in Hamilton. A

memorial gathering will be held by

the family in Vancouver on a date TBD
