Melva DWYER Obituary

Published by Vancouver Sun and/or The Province on Nov. 18, 2017.
DWYER, Melva
October 29, 1919 - November 13, 2017
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved sister and great-aunt with family at her side. Born in Kamloops, she was a teacher and Girl Guide leader. Obtaining her Librarian's Degree, she worked at UBC's Library and became head and lecturer of the Fine Arts Division. She received a Canadian Librarian's Award for her services and Professor Emerita. Melva was also very involved in the Vancouver and B.C Historical Society, where she also received an award. In retirement she lived for many happy years at Crescent Beach. Her final address was in North Vancouver to be close to family. A family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Love you forever!

I worked for Miss Dwyer in the Fine Arts Room, UBC Library in the early 60s. She was very kind to me and I found her to be a very intelligent and interesting person. I enjoyed the time I spent in the Library.
