LEWIS, Robert James
May 5, 1930 - November 18, 2012
On November 18, 2012, Bob passed away peacefully with his family at his side. He was born in Montreal on May 5, 1930. There he met his wife Ann and they started their family, raising two boys in Greenfield Park. As the boys grew up, Bob became involved in coaching hockey. On weekends, the family spent time in the Eastern Townships. Bob had a long and rewarding career of 37 years at Molson's, a career that brought him out to the West Coast in 1979. In Burnaby, he became very involved with the Cameron Recreation Centre: serving as President of the Cameron Seniors' Society; playing on the Seniors' Slow-pitch team and competing with the team in the BC Seniors' Games; as well, he filled in for Santa at the Centre each Christmas. Through these activities, Bob and Ann met many good friends and travelling companions. Bob was predeceased by his sisters Barbara, Eleanor and Betty. He is survived by his loving family: sisters Mary, Pat and Linda; Ann, his wife of 60 years; sons Steven (Kathy) and Randall (Anne) and three grandchildren, Chelsea, Kasey and James. He will be greatly missed by all of his extended family and numerous friends. A service of remembrance will be held Saturday, November 24 at 1:00 p.m. at Yates Funeral Chapel, 1000 Allsbrook Road, Parksville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Queen's Park Care Centre Foundation, Day Program for Older Adults, 315 McBride Blvd, New Westminster, BC V3L 5E8. Condolences and any memories can be shared with the family by visiting
(1-877-264-3848) in care of arrangements.
