Roberta (Robbie) Alice Alexander of Cloverdale, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 17, 2012 at the Irene Thomas Hospice in Delta. Robbie was born in Victoria on January 14, 1950. She was raised in Vancouver, spending much of her childhood playing in the waters at Trafalgar Beach. She met her loving husband of nearly 40 years, Charles Alexander while living in Whitehorse. After a brief time in the lower mainland, they settled in Quesnel to raise their family, returning again to the Surrey area for work in 1992. Robbie worked for the Ministry of Children & Family Development, retiring with 30 years of service in January of 2012. Robbie was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi where she built many life-long friendships. Deeply nurturing and truly kind, we lost an incredible, wife, mother, grandmother & friend. Robbie will be greatly missed by her husband Charles; her children: Mark (Jennifer) Alexander, Michelle (Steve) Mihaichuk, & Michael (Theresa) Alexander; her grandchildren: Megan, Benjamin, Kaitlyn, Tyler & Morgan, & many friends & extended family. She is predeceased by her Mother, Roberta Pounder, Grandmother, Helen Keane & Uncle, Merl Alden. The family would like to thank the Staff & Volunteers of the Irene Thomas Hospice for their support and care in Robbie's final days. A Funeral Service & Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Northwood United Church in Surrey, reception to follow.
