FOSTER, Thomas (Tom)
Tom passed away peacefully in Surrey Memorial Hospital on Saturday, February 9th. He was born May 7, 1931 in Cookstown, Northern Ireland. He came to Canada as a young adult with his family. Here he met his love and future wife Joy. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Joy, his two daughters Kim Foster, Heather (Rein) Nurmsoo, and three grandchildren Kaari, Kyler, and Keenan. He is also survived by his sister Bea Weager in Winnipeg, and Hilda (Mike Murrell) in Richmond. Tom worked many years at Chevron Canada. He enjoyed his time singing with the Vancouver Welsh Men's Choir. The best and happiest years of his life were spent with his wife Joy with whom he enjoyed travelling and spending time with family. Some of his favourite hobbies included hiking, camping, and trying to fix stuff – with mixed (but always appreciated) results. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be sadly missed. In respecting Tom's wishes, there will be no funeral service held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vancouver Welsh Men's choir or Canadian Mental Health. The family wish to express their appreciation to the Doctors, Nurses, and staff of Unit 3 West of Surrey Memorial Hospital for their wonderful care of Tom.
