Lawrence BOWE Obituary
October 2, 1935 - June 1, 2012
Larry passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 1, 2012 after long suffering with heart disease. Predeceased by his wife, Thelma (1985) dad, Lawrence Russell (1969) and mother, Kathleen (2007). Survived by his son Russell (Melinda), daughters Denise (Ted), Teresa, and Joanne ( David), grandchildren, Meghan and Matthew and his sister, Marion (Gerald), relatives in Canada and the U.K. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Glenda (Steeves) her children, Kathy, Karen (Steve) and James (Kim) and her seven grandchildren. Larry's company Anderson Blowpipe built pollution control systems for many sawmills and grain elevators throughout Western Canada and also owned and operated Elbowe Sales Ltd. He was on the Lower Mainland Transportation Panel and member of Richmond Chamber of Commerce. He enjoyed many years fishing and hunting with family and friends and loved his hobby of photography. On retirement, Larry and Glenda enjoyed travelling across Canada, to the UK, camping and cruising. There will be an informal celebration to share memories of Larry at Pioneer Park Hall, 27111 "0" Avenue, Aldergrove on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. We wish to thank the local Fire Dept. & BC Ambulance Services for their efforts. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Condolences can be sent to [email protected]

We were sad to hear of Larry's passing. Some years ago Larry reached out to Wayne, his American cousin (Kay, Larry's mother,and Mabel, Wayne's mother,were sisters). Larry continued to connect with us through visits, phone calls, and lately via Facebook. For Larry's effort to stay in touch, we are grateful!
Larry was interested in others, including us! He held passionate beliefs and pursued interesting hobbies. We will always treasure the beautiful, enlarged photos he took of our garden. It was our pleasure to get to know Glenda during Larry's and Glenda's travels to California. We'll greatly miss Larry!
Our sincere condolences to Glenda and to Larry's and Glenda's families.
