"Bob the Barber"
June 2, 1938 - June 16, 2012
The Lord called our father home after a short battle with lung cancer at Boundary Hospital in Grand Forks. In Dad's words, "I've lived a full life." His life began on a farm in Saskatchewan, he grew up in Surrey Centre, married, had four children, lived in Prince George and the greater Vancouver area until settling in Grand Forks over 30 years ago. Dad's life was adventurous; he started out working for the Highways Department, became an Artisan in Barbering, built boats/houseboats, was a Scuba Diver (salvage/recreational), a Log Salvager, Fished Commercially, and then gave his ALL developing a piece of riverfront property on the Kettle River in Grand Forks. Dad was an active sports enthusiast in his younger years, specifically Lacrosse, Basketball, Baseball and Golf. He appreciated "The Game of Sport" to the end. Dad retired a year ago from 30+ years of Barbering in Grand Forks. His passion was the guitar, singing tunes that stirred ones emotions and painting. Dad is survived by his four children: Shelly (Lou), Jody (Hugh), Tammy, Jeff (Tammy); five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; mother Anne Busby who currently resides in Grand Forks; brother Norman (Sue); sister Myrna (Doug); five nieces and nephews. Celebration of Life is pending. To Dad's family Physician and Boundary Hospital Nursing Staff, THANK YOU, for your compassionate care of our father. Thanks for the memories Dad/Pa/Bob, see you in Heaven.
