NORDLI, Norman Clifford
Age 83 years, late of Surrey, BC passed away with family at his side on November 19, 2012. He was born in Wadena, Saskatchewan. The son of Hans and Ingborg, who immigrated from Norway. The family lived in Hendon during the depression where they raised their six children. Norman's first income tax return from 1949 shows that he worked at the Port Alice Pulp Mill in BC. And returned to Hendon. In 1954 he moved permanently to BC and he retired from Heat and Frost Insulators in 1988. In the 1960's he and his Mom took a trip to Norway, she flew home and he cruised back. Norman enjoyed many trips around the country in his 1982 Dodge van. He liked to fish and visit with family and friends. He moved to Surrey in 2006 and gave his van away on May 15, 2010. Norman was a sweet and gentle man who kept his sense of humor until the very end. He is survived by his two sisters, Evelyn Bergman of Vancouver and Lila Dunlap of Maple Ridge, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great great-nieces and nephews and dear friends, many of whom were present to celebrate a joint Birthday for him and Lila on November 10. He is predeceased by his three brothers, Lenard, Alfred and Mervin, sister-in-law Helen (Alfred), brothers- in- law Sandy (Lila) and Fred (Evelyn). A graveside Service was held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 24, 2012 from Sunnyside Lawn Cemetery 14850 - 28th Avenue, Surrey, BC. Visitation was held preceding the Service. Family and friends gathered after the Service to Celebrate Norman's Life. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the charity of your choice.
