Predeceased by her daughter Valentina (Tina) Jones in 1982 and husband John (Jack) Bush in 1983 and survived by her son Stephen and daughter-in-law Vicky Bush (nee Doherty). Edna was the "most" proud Nana to Melanie Jones Salter (Frank) Jennifer Jones, David (Andrea) Jones, Sean (Claire) Bush, Arin (Jeff) Ellis and Evan Bush. The amazing GG to Elliot, Andrew, Holden and Avery
Edna was born in Manchester England, the township of Cheshire, on December 17, 1914. Edna was the second daughter to Joseph and Annie Rigby. Edna was predeceased by her sister Elsie Fairfield another longtime resident of West Vancouver. Edna (Titch) married her sweetheart John Bush on Valentine's Day 1935. John returned from action at the end of the Second World War and Edna and John travelled the world and spent time working and living in South Africa. After returning to England in 1950 John and Edna made the decision to immigrate to Canada living in Toronto, Windsor, and Winnipeg before settling in Vancouver where their son Stephen was born in 1952. Edna was involved in several West Vancouver organizations including the Hollyburn Sailing Club, I.O.D.E, West Van Lawn Bowling Club, the Senior's Centre and a volunteer at the Vancouver Art Gallery. Up until her recent hospitalization she played bridge at least twice a week with her "Bridge Girls" who helped Edna continue to live her life as independently as possible. There are many people the family would like to acknowledge for their support for Edna during her stay in the Hospital and the Hospice .Diane Hill, Mayzelle Allen, Estelle White, Joan Fraser, Terry McGlashan and Robyn Eaton. Your support was selfless and invaluable. We would also like to thank Melanie and Frank and David and Andrea for your help and support and most of all, to Jennifer Jones who gave up so much of her time to care for her Nana. Thank you.
Also thanks to Dr. Early, Dr. Walker and Dr. Malon at Lion's Gate Hospital for their care and long distance calls and to the staff of the North Shore Hospice who provided such a loving and invaluable service to Edna in her final days. Private cremation has taken place. As per her wishes we invite family and friends to join together in a gathering to celebrate the life of Edna Bush at the West Vancouver Lawn Bowling Club on Friday, January 18, 2013 at 6:00 p.m.
