Werner Claus February 17, 1919 - December 17, 2012 Born in Nordhausen Germany, Karl-Heinz Friedich Werner Claus, Dipl.Ing., P.Eng, passed away peacefully in West Vancouver, age 93. He is survived by his loving wife Inge, daughter Elke, son Berni Claus, (Kelly), grandsons Jethro and Kulan, great-grandson Kolby and extended family including Ian, Jennifer and Chris.

During the War he served in the Germany Artillery, primarily in the Crimea, receiving the Iron Cross. After the war he studied Civil Engineering at the Technical University Berlin/Charlottenburg, where he met his wife Inge also studying engineering. Immigrating to Canada in 1951 and settling in West Vancouver, he quickly found work as a structural engineer, designing a hydro-electric, pulp and paper, port and other projects.

A memorial service will be held on Dec 22, 2012, 2:00pm, in West Vancouver. Contact berni_claus@yahoo.com.
