Susan passed away suddenly on December 11, 2012 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Comox, BC. Born in Pictou, Nova Scotia on June 16, 1944, Sue was a true friend to those who knew her well. After retiring from the B.C. Federation of Labour in June 2011, Susan moved from Vancouver to Port Alberni to live in a serene forest setting and to be close to her step-son, Mike Foxcroft and wife Debbie, their daughters Kelly, her husband Mike, Dawn, and grandchildren Kaylen, MacKenzie and Rivers. Susan dedicated her working career with the B.C. Federation of Labour for 22 years and proudly established herself as a dependable, hard worker. Among other accomplishments, Susan will be remembered by her brothers and sisters as a determined, successful organizer of the annual Labour Christmas Dinner for those who need our help the most. Predeceased by her Father Donald and Mother Jean, Susan is survived by her twin brother Donald, sister-in-law Sandra, nephew Craig, his wife Angie and niece Joelle, husband Daniel and families in Ontario, sister Jane and brother-in-law Len in Comox and their children Jeffrey, his wife Laura, and niece Bonnie, great- nieces Emma and Annabelle and grandchild Sterling, and brother David and sister-in-law Brigida and niece Sarah Dawn, of Port Coquitlam. A genuine, and extremely kind woman, Susan was a caring anchor for family and friends. Affectionately known by many as 'Tootie', we will miss her humour, political insights and great cooking. We mourn her passing and fondly know that she made a lifelong difference in the lives of so many. Words cannot adequately express our loss. Memorial – The B.C. Federation of Labour and Susan's family are proud to sponsor her memorial to be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the UFCW hall located at 350 East Columbia Street, New Westminster. In lieu of flowers, your donation to the Labour Christmas Dinner, c/o the B.C. Federation of Labour, 200-5118 Joyce Street, Vancouver, BC V5R 4H1 is greatly appreciated.
