PETERS, Norman "Norm"
The Guest Book is expired.
Passed away in his 88th year at Brookside Lodge in Langley on February 13, 2013. Born in Kamloops on December 17, 1924. Predeceased by his wife Wilma (nee Trathen). Norm is survived by his son Russell (Shirley) and daughter Cheryl; grandchildren Chad (Charisse), Trevor, Whitney; great-granddaughter Vekka; brothers Allan (Cathy), Jerry (Susan); sisters June, Jean, Pat, and Judy; as well as many nieces, nephews and great friends. Norm was predeceased by his sister Jackie and his brothers Robin, Dennis. Norm and Wilma were avid ballroom dancers and spent time involved with the Supper Club. They loved to dance and could be found spending their Saturday nights dancing at Kennedy Hall. Although his later years were spent with visual impairment, Norm never failed to amaze people with his ability to function quite normally. Norm was a welder in the lower mainland working for Wajax Equipment, City Sheet Metal, Durand Machinery, and Lou's Rental and had operated his own shop "Norm's Welding" at 94th and Scott Road for many years. Norm was best known for over-fabricating anything in metal. Everything he ever made was over the top and spray painted blue. He was an avid fisherman and loved the outdoors. Norm always got the job done and was strong until his very last breath. Special thanks to everyone at Brookside Lodge for all the care they gave during his stay. Cremation has taken place. Private family arrangements. Interment of the urn will take place in Valley View Memorial Gardens at a later date. Those so desiring may make donations to the CNIB.
