Long-time West Vancouver resident Kathleen Enda Jardine passed away January 28, 2013. Born September 20, 1919, Enda was raised in St. Boniface, Manitoba, eldest of three children of Leslie and Kathleen Whyte and attended St. Mary's Academy. Enda and late husband Jim were married in 1943. While Jim was posted overseas, Enda worked for the British Admiralty in Washington, DC. They settled in Ontario and later moved to BC, raising five children. Enda and Jim were forever young at heart, ready to embrace new experiences. They were avid curlers and spent much time on their boat cruising the San Juan and Gulf Islands. They were also adventurous travellers, exploring Mexico, Europe and South East Asia in their 70s. Although widowed at 81, Enda continued to enjoy life, joining yoga classes at the Seniors' Centre, visiting family in New York and Victoria and enjoying get togethers with her ever-growing family. Her enduring sense of style and welcoming smile charmed all around her. After 57 years together Enda was predeceased by husband Jim in 2000 and daughter Kathy (Jonathan) in 2005. Enda is survived by daughters Pat (Eric) Campbell, Margot (Malcolm) Gray and sons James (Margaret) and Don (Jane), nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, brother Jack (Peggy) of Hamilton and lifelong friend Pat Desjardins of Winnipeg. Enda will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank the staff at Inglewood for their loving care.
