Published by Vancouver Sun and/or The Province on Mar. 2, 2013.
David Lam November 15, 1932 - February 21, 2013 David (Chan Fai) Lam, 80, passed away peacefully in Port Moody. He was predeceased by his parents, Wing Yan and Myra Chanson Lam, and survived by his wife of 52 years, Rose, children Ernie and Eugenie (Sinclair Tedder), his beloved grand-daughter Ysanne, his sister Queenie Chang [children William and Rufina (Miles Kingan)], cousins, and numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

David was educated in Shanghai and at LaSalle College in Hong Kong. He studied art with the late Lee Byng, and was a founding member of Hong Kong's Circle Art Group. After several years with the U.S. Information Services and the Hong Kong Museum and Art Gallery, David and his young family immigrated to Vancouver in 1965, where he was a designer in the Store Planning division of Woodward's Department Stores. From 1975, David pursued art full-time, creating landscapes in watercolour, acrylic, pencil, lithographs and silkscreens, and ceramic sculpture. In November, 2012, a retrospective exhibition of his paintings opened at the Hong Kong University Museum and Art Gallery.

Thank you to the physicians and nurses at the BC Cancer Agency, the Burnaby Hospital Regional Cancer Centre and Crossroads Inlet Hospice.
