Hey Kevin! I think about you every day when I ride any of the bikes you've built up for me. The store, though you wouldn't know to see, is an unofficial shrine for those who knew you through your work at Simon's. Your attitude gave people like me a heft in altitude, and I always felt a great sense of lightness & belonging after speaking with you. Kevin, you were extraordinarily kind and generous to me and I miss you, bro! But what a view you must have! Big wheel, keep on turning!

I worked with Kevin at the Sanctuary Foundation. I knew and looked up to Kevin. I have just heard of his passing today and it comes as a shock. He really touched my life. He touched many life's. I am deeply sorry.

Simons Bike Shop has always been the shop for me and my bikes since I was in my early 20's. It was people like Kevin who created the bicycle family. If something was wrong with your bike you could show up and they would fix with no problems. He will be missed in the cycling community. His care taking of the many bikes that came in and out of the shop cherished!!! Many blessings to his family. May he rest in peace. He is an angel looking down from above watching over all those people that he helped in their journey on two wheels. God bless!!

As one of Kevin's regular customers for the past 9 years, I greatly appreciated Kevin's honesty and integrity. Not only was he skilled at his craft, he had my trust for doing what needed to be done, no more, no less. That's a rare quality these days and his family can be proud of his legacy. My sincerest condolences.

Thanks for your guidance. The industry lost one of it's finest, a family lost a true gentle soul.
Save me a spot at the work bench at the big shop in the sky. See you again, some day.
My most deepest and sincere condolences to the family, when he would speak of his family, you could see the sparkle in his eyes... A great loss, far too soon.

I'm just another nutjob cyclist, but one who had the great fortune of being on the receiving end of Kev's endless appetite for treating me and my bike to repair. Over the past 10 years, I've cycled the upper levels highway from Horseshoe Bay to downtown return through any weather and over the course of my travels, Kev and I would meet in motion, he in the commuter van, grinning and hollering encouragement to carry on and push harder, come what may. Kev welcomed my hard core biking attitude and this morning coming over the bridge with a slow leak on the rear tire, I knew a visit to see Kev was nigh. So there I was, at 8:00am sharp down on Robson waiting only to be confronted by Simon's posted sign announcing Kev's end. So with that, I paused and turned around to morn the loss that his death presents. I will ride safe and continue on with his rousting echoing through my mind for many years to come. Thanks for your great spirit Kev. God Bless you and your family. Best Regards,
Gran Fondo will never be the same without Kevin's Bacon Station

We barely had the time to know him and yet he left a beautiful gift in our lives. A lovely house full of life and love all around. We feel extremely lucky to have had the chance to know him. Heather and beautiful Ava our hearts are with you please knock on our door or maybe we should say your door if there is anything at all that we can do to help in this difficult stage.

Heather, Ramon and I were so sad to hear of the loss of your husband Kevin. We didn't know him, but you were a big part of our family while all of you were growing up in Burlington. Our hearts go out to you and your daughter.
