Anne (Dolan) Moore, 87, of 413 Fairview Ave., Waynesboro, died Friday afternoon, June 13, 2014, in the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Aug. 20, 1926, in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Dolan and Jane (Monahan) Dolan.
She graduated from Washington Irving High School, New York City, with the class of 1942.
During the war, Mrs. Moore worked at a defense plant in New York. She was also a manager for the Woolworth Department Store in Times Square. Upon moving to Waynesboro, she worked at various local factories including the Waynesboro Knitting Mill. She later worked as a cook at the Waynesboro Hospital and was the kitchen coordinator for the Franklin County Meals on Wheels program. In addition to her employment, she enjoyed being a teacher's assistant at Fairview Elementary school and volunteering for their reading program.
She was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, Waynesboro, and enjoyed gardening, cooking, crafts, visiting with family and friends, being an amateur artist, traveling and spending time with her dogs.
She is survived by five children, Jeremiah Ryan and his wife, Janet of Ridgewood, New Jersey, Kathryn Banville of Waynesboro, Anne Ryan of Waynesboro, George Moore of Waynesboro and Thomas Moore and his wife, Donna of Upper Strasburg, Pennsylvania; three grandchildren, Steven Banville, Erin Vieira and Patrick Moore; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was the last of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Jeremiah Ryan; her second husband, George Moore; one daughter-in-law, Penny Fickes; one son-in-law, Kenneth Banville; one sister, Betty Bodin; and two brothers, Thomas Dolan and John Dolan.
Services will be private in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro, with Rev. John Bateman officiating. Burial will be in St. Andrew Cemetery.
