Dorothy L. (Blittersdorf) Zimmermann, 89, a resident of Quincy Village, passed away Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, in the nursing home.
Born June 11, 1924, in West Grove, Pa., she was the daughter of the late William T. and Lulu (Husbands) Blittersdorf.
Mrs. Zimmermann was a graduate of Avon Grove High School with the Class of 1942.
She and her husband, the late Mr. Otto C. Zimmermann, were married Jan. 1, 1944.
They resided in California and Pittsburgh, Pa., for many years before moving to New Hampshire.
They moved to Quincy Village in 1993. Mr. Zimmermann passed away Nov. 8, 2000.
Mrs. Zimmermann was employed as a decorator and buyer for Today's Home in Pittsburgh for 20 years. She retired in 1982.
She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Waynesboro, Pa.
Mrs. Zimmermann is survived by two daughters, Sarah Z. Plows and her husband, Alan of Manchester, Mass., and Susan Dziubek and her husband, Daniel of Pittsburgh; four grandchildren, Amy Charlton, Erin Doyle, Emily Dziubek Lewis and Joshua Dziubek; five great-grandchildren; and one brother, William T. Blittersdorf.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, in the Hess Room, Minnich Manor, Quincy Village, 6596 Orphanage Road, Waynesboro.
