E. Emilie "Emma" Harper

E. Emilie Harper, affectionately known as Emma in later years, passed away on April 19, 2014, at Providence Place in Chambersburg at the age of 91. Emma was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Thomas W. Harper, in 2009.
Emma was born and raised in San Francisco. She loved to travel and cook and was a fierce defender of animals. Emma and Tom were active in the Antietam Humane Society and gave a loving home to many animals.
She was known for her generosity and for her love of Charity Bridge. Emma had many students over the years and had a reputation as a formidable competitor.
Emma leaves behind two daughters; six grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
A quiet graveside service will be held privately in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: The Antietam Humane Society, 8513 Lyons Road, Waynesboro, Pa. 17268.
