Steven L. Zeigler Sr., age 60, of Chambersburg, went to be with his Lord on Thursday morning, May 15, 2014. Born March 17, 1954, he was the son of Janet Kirkpatrick Zeigler and the late Donald L. Zeigler.
A 1972 graduate of CASHS, Steven then enlisted in the U.S. Navy
and served honorably from 1974 until 1978. He began his career as a boiler mechanic at Letterkenny Army Depot in 1979 and worked there until his retirement in May of 2010. Steven enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and doing crossword puzzles. He was a former member of King Street United Brethren Church and Christian Life Assembly of God.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two children, Erik Zeigler of Seattle, Washington, and Steven L. Zeigler Jr. of Chambersburg; two sisters, Bonnie Woods and husband Steve of Fayetteville, Pennsylvania, and Julie Martin and husband Patrick of Chambersburg; one niece; two nephews; and one great-nephew.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. Rev. Lester F. Stine and Pastor Leroy Wiley will officiate. Interment with military honors by members of the Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW
Honor Guard will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 19, 2014, from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Condolences and memories may be shared on his Book of Memories page at www.geiselfuneralhome.com
