Charles D. Fishack Jr., 93, of Bradbury Avenue, Smithsburg, Maryland, passed away Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014, at his home.
Born June 8, 1921, near Greensburg, Maryland, he was the son of the late Charles D. Fishack Sr. and Edith (Miller) Fishack.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Louisa Houpt Fishack, on June 16, 2005. They were married June 14, 1941.
He was a graduate of Smithsburg High School and attended business college.
He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the United States Navy.
Charles was employed by Fairchild Aircraft and was president of Maryland Maid Kitchens of Hagerstown before taking over as owner and operator.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Smithsburg, Smithsburg Lions Club, where he served as past president, past zone chairman and past district governor in 1967, Salem Masonic Lodge 196 A.F, & A.M. of Smithsburg and Fountain Head Country Club of Hagerstown.
Charles is survived by son C. Edward Fishack and wife Barbara of Hagerstown, daughter Julianne F. Harp and husband David of Smithsburg, grandchildren Pamala J. Huntzberry and husband Brad of Smithsburg, Stephen D. Harp and wife Yvonne of Fayetteville, West Virginia, Anne M. Linn and husband Eric of Smithsburg and Kristen A. Lourinia and husband Jeff of New Market, Maryland, great-grandchildren Kyle W. Huntzberry, Kayla M. Huntzberry, Mason D. Harp, Bryce A. Harp, Tyler D. Linn, Austin M. Linn, Ryan A. Linn, Blake W. Linn, Zack T. Linn and Julia E. Lourinia, sister-in-laws Bette Fishack of Hagerstown and Carolyn Fishack of Frederick and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert L. Fishack and Eugene F. Fishack.
Services will be held Monday, Aug. 18, 2014, at 10 a.m. at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, with Pastor Virgil Cain officiating. Burial will be in Smithsburg Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
