Glenn E. Carbaugh Obituary
Glenn E. Carbaugh, 89, of Waynesboro died at 2:40 p.m. Sunday, March 23, 2014, in the Waynesboro Hospital.
Born Dec. 28, 1924, in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Ellsworth and Ethel (Clark) Carbaugh. He was a lifelong resident of the Waynesboro area.
He was a high school graduate and later graduated from the Maryland Institute of Art.
Mr. Carbaugh served with the United States Army during World War II, serving part of his time in India and Burma.
He and his wife, the late Wenona F. (Stansbury) Carbaugh, were married on Nov. 21, 1947. Mrs. Carbaugh died on March 16, 2003.
Mr. Carbaugh worked as a technical illustrator and artist for Fairchild-Hiller Corp. for nearly 30 years. He also tuned pianos for various families in the area.
He was a member of the Waynesboro Church of the Brethren and Joe Stickell American Legion Post 15, both of Waynesboro.
Mr. Carbaugh enjoyed painting, sewing, fishing and swimming.
He is survived by his son, Barry G. Carbaugh and his wife, Barbara of York, Pa.; one grandson, Daniel J. McGlaughlin; one brother, Edgar Carbaugh and his wife, Mae of Waynesboro; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, with Rev. Jesse Miles officiating. Burial will be private in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, Saturday morning, in the funeral home.
