Kenneth E "Kenny" Stottlemyer Obituary
Kenneth E. "Kenny" Stottlemyer, 65, of Quirauk School Road, Sabillasville, Maryland, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2014, at Meritus Medical Center surrounded by his loving family after a lengthy illness.
Born Dec. 21, 1948, in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Leister B. Stottlemyer Sr. and Minnie M. (Eyler) Stottlemyer.
He was a graduate of Smithsburg High School class of 1966.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the United States Navy aboard the USS Yorktown and USS Wood County.
He retired from Moore Business Forms of Thurmont, Maryland, after 37 years of service. He was most recently employed by Capital Camps of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Joyce (Miller) Stottlemyer, two sons Scott and wife Tammy of Sabillasville and Matthew and wife Christina of Florida, one grandson Aaron Stottlemyer of Sabillasville, two stepgrandchildren Lauren Voland and Aaron Ogan of Florida, five sisters Mary Buhrman of Zullinger, Pennsylvania, Anna Wiekert of Blue Ridge Summit, Pennsylvania, Martha Shaffer and husband Darwin of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, Katherine Brown and husband Sam of Zullinger, Pennsylvania, and Dorothy Buhrman of Sabillasville, Maryland, one brother Jim Stottlemyer and wife Bonnie of Sabillasville, Maryland, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers Leister B. Stottlemyer Jr., John R. Stottlemyer and Andrew J. Stottlemyer.
A memorial service will be held Saturday July 5, 2014, at 10:30 a.m.. at Germantown Bethel Church of God, 16924 Raven Rock Road, Cascade, Maryland 21719 with Pastor Al Deal of Mount Zion United Methodist Church of Sabillasville officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Kenny to Mount Zion United Methodist Church at P.O. Box 104, Sabillasville, MD 21780.
The family would like to send a special thanks to the staff at Meritus Medical Center and Julia Manor Healthcare for the exceptional care given to their loved one.
Arrangements were entrusted to the J.L. Davis Funeral Home of Smithsburg, Maryland.
