Mrs. Susan K. (Hauber) Nolan, 57, of 10436 Fish and Game Road, Waynesboro, Pa., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, in her home.
Born June 19, 1956, in Chambersburg, Pa., she was the daughter of Frederick W. and Phoebe J. (Allen) Hauber, Waynesboro. She was a graduate of Waynesboro Area Senior High School with the Class of 1974 and Franklin County Vo-Tech, Chambersburg, where she studied landscaping and horticulture. Susan served in the United States Army from September 1975 until September 1977. She was employed as a contract specialist for the United States Army at Fort Ritchie, Md., and Fort Huachuca, Ariz. Susan's many interests included beading, crafting jewelry and painting. She also enjoyed flower arranging and had a fondness for horseback riding. She loved spending time with her dog, "Princess Wiggleworm."
In addition to her parents, she is survived by three children, Katlin A. Todd of Arizona and Miranda L. Nolan and Joshua A. Nolan, both of Waynesboro; four grandchildren, Willow, Azreal, Raven and Kurt V; one sister, Cheryl A. Sichler and her husband, C.J. of State College, Pa.; two brothers, James E. Hauber and his wife, Nancy of Boonsboro, Md. and Sean A. Hauber and his wife, Susan of Jefferson, Md.; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, David H. Nolan who passed away in 2005.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro with Pastor Christine Callaway officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Honor Guard of Charles Nitterhouse
Post 1599, Chambersburg, immediately following the memorial service. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
