Thomas Lee Smith Obituary
Thomas Lee Smith, 71, of 10157 Mentzer Gap Road, Waynesboro, died at 4:02 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, in his home. Born April 7, 1942, in Rouzerville, Pa., he was the son of the late Albert and Bessie (Heffner) Smith.
Tom graduated from Waynesboro Area Senior High School in 1960. After graduation, Tom enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he spent two years serving as a Military Police Officer. He later worked at Citizens National Bank and Brake Pontiac Cadillac, both of Waynesboro. Prior to his retirement he was a salesman at Keystone Ford, Shippensburg.
Tom was a member of the Blue Ridge Sportsman's Association and the South Mountain Fish and Game. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, horses, and collecting guns.
He is survived by three children, Lori Wriston of Hagerstown, Md., Amy Fawks of Mont Alto, and Jennifer Warner of Waynesboro; eight grandchildren; one sister, Linda Stoops of Waynesboro; one nephew, Michael Smith, two nieces, Cathy Wile and Samantha Wagaman all of Waynesboro. He also leaves behind his beloved companion, Jean Martin, of Cascade, Md.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Donald A. Smith.
The family will receive friends at a celebration of life service on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014, from 3-5pm at the Otterbein Ministry Center, 912 S. Potomac St. Waynesboro.
