Mrs. Catherine H. (Anderson) Stouffer Obituary
Mrs. Catherine H. (Anderson) Stouffer, 86, formerly of Cider Press Road, Waynesboro, PA passed away Thursday morning, September 6, 2018 at ManorCare Health Services, Chambersburg, PA.
Born September 22, 1931 in Mercersburg, PA she was the daughter of the late Chester and Mabel (Difenderfer) Anderson.
Mrs. Stouffer attended Mercersburg High School.
She and her husband, the late George R. Stouffer, Sr., were married November 12, 1947 in Hagerstown, MD. Mr. Stouffer passed away January 5, 2018.
Mrs. Stouffer was employed as a seamstress at Stanley Company, Chambersburg and J. Schoenaman Company. She retired in 1993 after more than 36 years.
She attended Grace Baptist Church and various other churches in the area with her brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Stouffer enjoyed cooking, sewing, traveling, flower gardening and spending time with her family.
She is survived by five children, George Stouffer, Jr. and his wife Darlene of Waynesboro, Rosalee Lehman of Greencastle, Vivian Schlottman and her husband William of Greencastle, Julia Myers and her husband Kevin of Greencastle, and Kevin Stouffer and his wife Frances of Waynesboro; eight grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; four sisters, Lu Blair of Greencastle, Ruth Miller of Greencastle, Nell Stoner of Mercersburg, and Dorothy Rebok of Chambersburg; three brothers, Rollie Anderson of Greencastle, Ray Anderson of Chambersburg, and Harry Anderson of Mercersburg; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Schlottman; two brothers, John Anderson and Sam Anderson; and a sister Pauline Harmon.
Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 11, 2018 in the Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad Street, Waynesboro. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, South Potomac Street, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Monday evening, in the funeral home.
