She was born on Feb. 22, 1951 in Hagerstown, MD, the daughter of the late Charles E. Danzberger and Margaret E. Grimm Danzberger.

She was an untiring volunteer serving in many capacities at the Evangelical Lutheran Church and sang in the choir. In addition to her dedicated service to her church, Cookie was actively involved in The Waynesboro Hospital Auxiliary, most recently serving on the Waynesboro Hospital's Patient Care Advisory Committee. When her children were younger she was active in athletic associations and the Summitview Elementary School PTO.

She was fondly known for the many greeting cards and get well wishes she sent faithfully to friends and members of the community over the years. Her capacity to remember by name nearly everyone she met was remarkable.
