Mary Ann Woodard Obituary
Mary Ann Woodard, 79, of Roscoe, Ill., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at P.A. Peterson Retirement Home in Rockford, Ill., after a brief illness. She was born Nov. 19, 1934, in Waynesboro, Pa., the daughter of Robert and Ruth Wingert. She married Robert L. Woodard Jr. of Beloit, Wis., in September 1956 in Waynesboro and later moved to Beloit. She worked as a teller at First National Bank in Waynesboro and was later employed as a financial secretary at Our Savior's Lutheran in Beloit, where she was also a member, Sunday and Bible School teacher and served on numerous committees. She was a charter member of Cross and Crown Lutheran in Roscoe and served in various ways there also. Mary Ann was an avid antique collector and enjoyed reading, bird watching, country music, following her grandchildren's activities and beach vacations.
She is survived by her husband, Bob; son, Tom; daughter, Ellen (Joe) Colletta; grandchildren, Katie and Robbie Colletta; brother, Bob Wingert of Hanover, Pa.; brothers-and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 16, 2014, in Cross and Crown Lutheran Church, 7404 Elevator Road, Roscoe, Ill. 61073, with a visitation from 12:30 to 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church or Lutherdale Bible Camp.
