Betty Webb Henry Obituary
Betty Webb Henry, 74, of Moss Spring Avenue, Greencastle, Pa., passed away Saturday, April 5, 2014, in Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown, Md., after an extended illness.
Born April 14, 1939, in Baltimore, Md., she was the daughter of the late Nobel and Irma (Schnibble) Webb. She grew up in Chambersburg, Pa., graduating with the Chambersburg Area Senior High School of 1957.
She married Owen R. Henry Dec. 1, 1962, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Chambersburg. They raised their two sons while living in Michigan, Illinois and New Jersey before moving to their current residence in December of 2001.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Greencastle, a member and past president of the Social Order of Beauceant in New Jersey and a former member of the ladies of the Eastern Star.
She retired from the Lakehurst, N.J. Navy Base where she worked as a computer programmer for over 20 years, as a way to put her sons through college.
She was a caring, sensitive lady who was a tremendous cook who enjoyed and could easily connect with children.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two sons: Darren R. Henry and Brian S. Henry, husband of Yeny, both of Denver, Colo.; twin grandchildren: Conner and Isabella Henry; a brother, William Webb, husband of Leona, Carlisle, Pa.; Her brother and sister in-laws: Daryl and Nancy Henry, Greencastle, Lucille Tabor, Smithsburg, Md., Harold and Miriam Henry, Hagerstown, Md., Annabelle Henry, Greencastle and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, in Trinity Lutheran Church, 1186 Jason Drive, Greencastle, Pa., with Pastor William Dehass officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church.
