Lucile M. (Henry) Taber Obituary
Lucile M. (Henry) Taber, 83, of Smithsburg, Maryland, died July 27, 2014, at her home.
Born May 3, 1931, in Greencastle, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Mary E. (Roth) Henry and Edgar Henry.
She was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania.
Lucile enjoyed traveling, quilting and volunteering at the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts. She enjoyed spending time with her family and hosting family gatherings. She earned an associate's degree from Hagerstown Junior College in May 1995.
Lucile is survived by two daughters, Carol T. Tesla (Michael) of Hagerstown and Karen T. Crawford of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; one son, Michael R. Taber of Smithsburg; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer Snyder, Brianne Tesla, Amber McQueen, Patrick Martin, Brittany Mills, Alana Lee, Christopher Taber, Alexandra Taber, Emily Taber, and Brendan Taber; seven great-grandchildren, Taylor, Brayden, Caigan, Lillian, Carter, Marcella and Eleanora; three brothers, Harold Henry, Owen Henry and Daryl Henry; and her companion, Donald Koontz.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harold W. Taber Jr.; one son, Brian H. Taber; one sister, Helen H. Overcash; a brother, John Richard Henry; son-in-law, Regis Crawford.
Services will be Friday, Aug. 1, 2014 at 11 a.m. at J.L. Davis Funeral Home in Smithsburg. The Rev. Peter Fulghum will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania.
The family will receive friends Thursday, July 31, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
