Eleanor T. (Laurito) Zisa Obituary
Eleanor T. (Laurito) Zisa, age 84, of Greencastle, Pennsylvania, died peacefully Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014, surrounded by her family.
Born Feb. 11, 1930, in Paterson, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Anna (Merola) Laurito. She married Gerald J. Zisa on June 18, 1955, in Paterson, New Jersey.
She was a homemaker and in her earlier years she worked at the Curtis Wright Corp. in New Jersey. Eleanor graduated from the Eastside High School in Paterson.
Eleanor was a member of the St. Andrew Catholic Church of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, and was a member of the Council of Catholic Women. She enjoyed being a member of the Red Hat Society and attending the Greencastle Senior Center. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Surviving family in addition to her husband are two daughters Patricia Carney and husband Brian of Sterling, Virginia, Mary Jean Silvis and husband Doug of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania; five sons Gerald Zisa Jr., John Zisa and Steven Zisa, all of Greencastle, Michael Zisa of Sterling, Virginia, Robert Zisa and wife Stacy of Hagerstown, Maryland; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; one sister Frances Gulino and husband Bill of Wayne, New Jersey, and one brother Sam Laurito and wife Joan of Wayne, New Jersey.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Aug. 8, at 11 a.m. from the St. Andrew Catholic Church, 12 N. Broad St. Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, with Rev. Augusty T. Valomchalil as celebrant. Burial will be in the St. Andrew Catholic Church Cemetery in Waynesboro. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given in her memory to the St. Andrew Catholic Church, 12 N. Broad St., Waynesboro, PA 17268.
