Antoinette Lombardo Dakin

Aug. 30, 1930 - Oct. 26, 2013
Our beloved Antoinette (Toni) Lombardo Dakin of Tacoma, WA and long time resident of Vacaville, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, Oct. 26, after a brief illness.
Toni was born on Aug. 30, 1930 in Tacoma, WA, the second daughter of Frank and Frances Lombardo. She was raised in a loving home with her three sisters, Sally, Joyce and Diana. She graduated as Valedictorian from Lincoln High School in 1948 and soon after met and married Richard C. Dakin, also of Tacoma. In 1960 they moved to Vacaville, CA. with their three children, Ricky, Kelly and Robby where they resided for 30 years. Toni's zest for life was reflected in her interests. She loved hiking, attending jazz festivals, and playing cards with life long friend Lloyd Albert, as well as reading, crocheting, and tap dancing at the young age of 60. Over 22 years ago Toni turned her talents into a desire to help others when she began crocheting and selling baby booties with all proceeds going to cancer and heart research. Her quick witted humor and friendly manner made her special to all who knew her. Toni will be lovingly remembered by her family, Rick and Shayne Dakin, Kelly Marsh of Vacaville, and Rob Dakin of Knoxville, TN. Her undeniable spirit will carry on through her six grandchildren, Jeremy Marsh, Jenny Little, Kristopher, Eric, Patrick and Matthew Dakin, and four great grandchildren, Ian, Braden, Mason and Brookelynn. Toni is survived by her three sisters, Sally and Nat (husband) Luppino, Joyce and Fred (husband) Spray, and Diana Bowen. She will always be in our hearts and smiles and will be forever lovingly remembered by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, 1100 Fairfiew Ave., N. Seattle, WA 98109.
Services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 2, at 12 p.m., at Calvary Garden Chapel, 5212 70th St. W., Tacoma, WA.
