Charles "Charlie" Albidress III

A Mass of the Resurrection for Charles "Charlie" Albidress III, 57, will be celebrated on Monday, Aug. 15, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Eduardo Mendoza officiating. Charlie passed away on Thursday, Aug. 11, at Kaiser Hospital in Vallejo, with complications of lymphoma. He was born on July 6, 1954, in San Antonio and resided in Vacaville for 20 years.

He was a hospital administrator employed with the U.S. Government having served assignments at Lackland Air Force Base in Wiesbaden, Germany, and lastly, David Grant USAF Medical Center at Travis AFB. He studied and obtained both bachelor's and master's degrees from Trinity University in San Antonio.

Charlie "LOVED" music. For many years, he was a devoted member of the music team at St. Mary's Church 5:30 p.m. Youth Mass on Sundays. He also was in a local band, Kafe Riko. For six years, he and his wife conducted Engaged Encounters for those couples soon to be married. On any given evening, one might find he and his daughter, Marissa, volunteering at the hospital with the Coffee Cart ministry.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Laura; daughters, Mariana, Marissa and Megan, all of Vacaville; mother, Claudine Albidress of San Antonio; sisters, Claudine (Ray) Jimenez of Dallas and Andrea (Marco) Mendiola of San Antonio; and brother, Adrian (Sylvia) of Baltimore.

The family invites friends for visitation on Sunday, Aug. 14, from 5 to 8 p.m., with Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m., at Nadeau Family Funeral Home. Charlie will be laid to rest in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Second Fisher House being built at Travis Air Force Base on the grounds surrounding David Grant Medical Center.
