A memorial service for Evelyn B. Sommer, 94 of Vacaville, will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 17, at New Hope Christian Fellowship, 4910 Allison Pkwy, in Vacaville. She will be laid to rest at the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery in a private ceremony.
Evelyn went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Nov. 3. She was born in Manvel, North Dakota on Aug. 11, 1918 to Nels and Christina Branvold.
Evelyn was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She loved people and was a sweet Christian lady who lived out her faith each and every day. Evelyn had a great sense of humor and good heart. She loved baking for others (known for her signature chocolate pie), ceramics, fishing, baseball, SkipBo and Bingo. She enjoyed traveling, especially Hawaii.
The family wishes to thank the loving and caring staff at Emeritus in Vacaville where she lived for six years and most recently Fairfield Post Acute Rehab Center these last few weeks.
She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her late husband, Arthur Sommer; sisters, Mae and Gladys; brothers, Elmer and Bud.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane Geisler; daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Mark Pryor; grandchildren, Christy (Tim), Jeff (Lexi), Steve (GiGi) and Susanne (Brian); great grandchildren, Avery, Grant and Caleb; she is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
