James Rymell Patton

James Rymell Patton, a retired Veteran, died at the age of 80 on Dec. 25, 2013 in Vacaville.
James was a beloved father, brother, grandfather, great grand father, and dear friend that touched the lives of many with his quiet, but witty personality and gentle nature.
James was born on April 19, 1933 in Sayre Penn. He went to high school in Athens, Penn.
After high school James joined the Air Force. He later became a Master Sergeant and retired in June of 1973, after serving over 20 years.
Shortly after joining the Air Force, he met Damariz Castro and her three children. They married and together raised six children.
He later married Mable "Kathy" Patton in 1973 and became a father figure to Kathy's two sons.
James was a long time member of the moose lodge serving two years as governor. He was also a member of the American Legion, VFW
, and a Mason. He also had a TV and Radio repair shop that was open for several years.
He enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends. James loved to eat out and was well known at several local eateries and coffee shops. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, gold panning, and watching sports.
James Patton is preceded in death by his wife, Mabel (Kathy) Patton, parents Donald J Patton and Ruth Patton, son James R. Patton, sister Jackie Patton, brother Donald K. Patton, sister Donna Cole.
He is survived by sister Joyce Springer of Weatherly, NY, brother Gerald Patton of Sayre, PA, son Robert Patton of Paso Robles, son Sergio Nieto of Reno, son Joe Nieto of Reno, daughter Genny Patton of Loma Linda, daughter Patricia Patton (Martinez) of Merced, son Stephen Thrasher of Vacaville, son Michael Thrasher of Santa Clarita, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
James lived a long fulfilled life and was a content man. He is truly loved by many and his spirit will live on.

Services for James Patton are being held on Monday, Jan. 6, 2014 at 12 p.m., Mc Cune Garden Chapel, 212 Main Street, Vacaville. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Sacramento Valley Military Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon.
