Laurie (Danielson) Bailey, 59, passed away on Aug. 27 at her son's home in Suisun, surrounded by family.

Laurie was born Oct. 11, 1954 to Ed and Jean (Mangels) Danielson. She grew up in Fairfield and Suisun Valley where she spent her childhood among the fruit trees and berry vines, rescuing every cat and critter that needed care. She graduated from Armijo, and earned a teaching credential from Chico State. She returned to teach for Travis Unified for 35 years at Center and Scandia Elementary.

Laurie was the loving daughter, mother, and wife who put others before herself. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy.

Laurie is survived by sons, Michael (Anita), Nicholas (Ashley), and Christopher; 14 grandchildren; brother, Jim, and sister, Kathy. She is also survived by step-children Jenny, Bobby, and Tegan whom she loved and raised.

She was preceded in death by her parents and infant daughter, Kristin.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to any of the following: Scandia Elementary, Solano SPCA, or the Solano Land Trust-Rush Ranch.

Funeral services will be graveside at Rockville Cemetary on Sept. 3 at 2 p.m. There will be a celebration of life reception at Mankas Steakhouse immediately following.

Important! Laurie asked that friends wear bright colors to her funeral.
