Sept. 27, 1939 - July 22, 2013
Lowell "Bud" Ray Simmons, Sr., age 73, of Vacaville, entered into rest on Thursday, July 11, following a long illness.
Bud was born in Brookland, Ark. on Sept. 27, 1939 to Millard A. Simmons and Nora Bohling Simmons. He moved with his family to Richmond, Calif. as a young boy and worked to help support his mother, a single mom.
He married Mary Alice Edwards on June 25, 1960 in Richmond, Calif. He joined the U.S. Army
in Sept. 1961 and was stationed at Fort Wainwright in Fairbanks, Alaska. In later years he worked as a teacher at Bethel Christian Academy. He spent another 23 years working in the teamsters union in Sacramento and Richmond.
Bud was a hard worker and dedicated to providing for his family. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
We rest in the hope that he is now in the presence of Christ.
